Preschool Program
Our Preschool Program reinforces and builds on curriculum which is specific to developing overall language and requisite skills which prepare children for kindergarten. Activties encourage creativity through multiple modalities in a child-centered environment (i.e., art, music, dramatic play, pre-reading/math activities).
Reading skills at the Preschool level focus on letter identification, sound/symbol relationship, (limited) sight word vocabulary and rebus/language experience charts. Our Preschool teachers utilize high-interest materials, incorporating a multi-sensory approach to teaching.
Formal pre-reading worksheets, specific manipulatives to build a solid foundation necessary to understanding basic arithmetic concepts as well as age-appropriate handwriting implements are included in the Preschool program to afford all children of this age the ability to develop skills at their own individual level of competence.
